Parent Coordinator - Chicago - West Englewood
Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Parent Empowerment Program supervisor, is responsible for carrying out the Parent Training initiative and other parent support activities.
- Participate in initial orientation and ongoing training.
- Facilitate operation of the overall project.
- Plan and carry out recruitment strategies.
- Develop parent training curriculum and parent/child interaction activities.
- Develop curriculum for Building Relationships with Families.
- Develop curriculum for Family Awareness Workshop.
- Carry out training for parents and staff.
- Train child care workers.
- Assist with planning and implementing evaluation process.
- Build constructive relationships with and serve as a positive role model for parents.
- Complete all required documentation by established deadlines.

Job Requirements:
- Must have a BA degree in education, psychology, sociology, or related field.
- Must have 1-3 years experience in a social service setting.
- Must be familiar with the ethnic background and sensitive to the cultures of families in target communities.
- Prefer experience in curriculum development and training.
- Must meet Agency and DCFS driver approval standards, and have vehicle that meets legal standards for insurance, maintenance and drivability.

Part-Time Facility Manager –Chicago O’Hare
Job Summary: Primarily devoted to coordinating and overseeing the safe, secure and environmentally-sound operations and maintenance of agency facilities in a cost-effective manner; coordinate and support facility-related services including maintenance, cleaning and security.
- Reporting to designated staff – plan, organize and manage all maintenance and upkeep functions for Agency facilities in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and Agency policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage contractors and subcontractors performing services for the agency.
- Coordinate receipt, prioritization and assignment of work orders and completes work through the performance of skilled craft service people (e.g., plumbing, electrical HVAC, etc.).
- Complete minor construction or renovation activities.
- Solicit and make recommendations for use of contracted work.
- Collaborate with appropriate staff relative to facility projects and funding opportunities.
- Assist in Risk Management reporting.
- Ensure ongoing and routine communication with appropriate program management; demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and participate in the CQI process activities as required.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or associates degree and 5 years experience in skilled craft services (e.g. repair and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, carpentry) and working knowledge of safety and maintenance practices for facilities (residential and commercial) and equipment.
- Universal HVAC certificate preferred; experience in child welfare highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word and other relevant software required.
- Must demonstrate independent and sound decision-making and judgment always maintaining what is in the best interest of ChildServ.

Part Time Child Care Coordinator - Waukegan, IL
Job Summary: ChildServ is hiring a part-time coordinator of the childcare component of the Families Learning Together (FLT) program. In collaboration with three public libraries and the College of Lake County, this program focuses on adult GED and ESL education for parents coupled with early literacy activities for children. The ChildServ coordinator provides oversight and direction for the childcare component of FLT, which serves approximately 75 children in Waukegan, North Chicago and Round Lake.
- On-site supervision of three day care workers.
- Development of curriculum focused on best practices in early literacy for infants and children up through age 6.
- Coordination with adult education teachers from CLC who provide instruction to the parents.
- Coordination with the children’s librarians at each library.
- Maintenance of case files for each child enrolled in the program.
- Preparation of reports.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor`s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or smiliar field of studies.
- Two (2) years experience in working with children age new-born to five years required.

Job Summary:
- Provide paraprofessional assistance to the EHS/Home Based program participants, including pregnant and parenting adults and children aged 3 years and younger.
- The Parent Educator is also responsible for providing resources and support through educational and family development activities.
- Participate in initial orientation and ongoing training; Conduct weekly home visits to families and provide services as outlined in the service plan.
- Build and encourage constructive relationships with the families to increase their knowledge of their children’s developmental needs and ability to advocate for their family.

Job Description: Perform case work services for children and families in regular, specialized or home-of-relative foster care programs with an emphasis on meeting the clients’ environmental and psychosocial needs, and implementing a permanent living plan for each child; build and/or manage a caseload of foster care providers.
