Advocacy
ChildServ's board, staff and volunteers work with existing coalitions on behalf of vulnerable children and their families. Children rank very low on our nation's agenda. They have neither voice nor vote and little political influence. Through its mission, ChildServ declares itself to be a strong advocate for children and families, and to work for justice in the use of resources and provision of services. This means proclaiming the sacredness of each child and fulfilling a commitment to work for a nurturing environment at the family, community, state and national levels. Families must have the essential resources needed to care for their children.

ChildServ promotes child advocacy in local congregations of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church through its participation in United Voices for Children, a coalition of the four United Methodist agencies serving children in northern Illinois. ChildServ also works with organizations such as the Alliance for Children and Families, the Child Welfare League of America and Voices for Illinois Children.
