Diaper and Baby Item Drive
ChildServ invites caring members of the community to participate in its 12,000 Diaper Drive, which will provide necessities to families with new infants in their care.
We especially need:
· Diapers
· Baby wipes
· Onesies
· Baby shampoo
· Soaps
· Lotion
· Toothbrushes
· Pajamas
· Baby formula
· Wash cloths
· Burp cloths
· Vaseline
Supplies such as diapers, wipes, onesies, baby shampoo, soaps, lotion, toothbrushes, pajamas, baby formula, wash cloths, burp cloths, and Vaseline will be distributed to families with infants that are recently put into foster care, and to families who are taking part in our early childhood preparedness programs.
Our goal is to collect over 12,000 supplies to make at-risk children happy babies. Please help us make it happen!

Thanks to everyone who assisted to with 2012 ChildServ Holiday Gift Giving Program! With your help, we were able to distribute gifts to more than 1,100 children in our care.

Volunteer Opportunities:
·Speak at a workshop for a youth program.
·Work with children on early learning skills while their parents attend parenting education programs.
·Become a one-on-one mentor for a youth or young adult.
·Help beautify a group home.
·Work with Spanish-speaking children on nutrition and fitness.
·Lend some muscle. Become a one-time moving day helper for a teen mom or foster child.
·Become a foster parent and give a child a home.
·Join the Auxiliary Board to help fundraise and grow awareness about ChildServ.

We also have two different Mentor program: Mentor-DuPage County
Volunteer Summary: The Mentorship program at ChildServ’s main goal is to ‘Provide strong, positive, adult role models for our at-risk youth in our DuPage County Group-Homes’. These mentors will be matched with a single child and develop a strong, lasting relationship that is both beneficial to the child as well as the mentor. Mentorships roles vary differently depending on the child and the mentor, but some activities include tutoring, homework assistance, college applications, resume and job application assistance, personal life, social situations, family life, decision making, and many, many more.
The Mentors time commitment is dependent on their relationship with the youth. A successful mentorship can be as little as 5 hours a month up to 10 hours a week. Mentors are able to make time for their mentee both during the week and on the weekends, as well as in-person or over the telephone.
Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older. Would be preferential to have experience working with youths from at-risk backgrounds. Should be comfortable working with youths who are in the care of the State of Illinois. Must be willing to have a flexible schedule.
All Mentors must go through extensive background checks as well as be medically cleared.
Mentor-Chicago Programs

These mentors will be matched with a single child and develop a strong, lasting relationship that is both beneficial to the child as well as the mentor. Mentorships roles vary differently depending on the child and the mentor, but some activities include tutoring, homework assistance, college applications, resume and job application assistance, personal life, social situations, family life, decision making, and many, many more.
Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older. Would be preferential to have experience working with youths from at-risk backgrounds. Should be comfortable working with youths who are in the care of the State of Illinois, are teen mothers, or teens dealing with homelesness. Must be willing to have a flexible schedule.
All Mentors must go through extensive background checks as well as be medically cleared.
